Vendors & Villages

NaClCON will be better because you contributed to it.

Villages, Tables, and Community Experiences

NaClCON is not meant to be something you simply attend. It is something you help create. Some of the best moments at a conference do not happen on a stage. They happen around a table, over a weird piece of hardware, beside a stack of books, while someone is teaching a skill for the first time, or while a group of people pause together to remember someone who should have been there with us.

This year’s villages, tables, and community spaces are built around that idea. Bring your curiosity. Bring your stories. Bring something to share. Bring something to teach. Bring something that makes someone else stop and say, “Wait, what is that?”

HACKER BOOK SWAP

Buy a book, Take a book

The Hacker Book Swap is a simple idea with a lot of heart: bring a book, take a book.

Are you an author? A collector? A lifelong reader? Someone with an extra copy of a book that changed the way you think? Bring it. Fiction, nonfiction, technical manuals, security books, old programming texts, cyberpunk novels, electronics books, memoirs, zines, weird pamphlets, underground classics, and “you have to read this” favorites are all welcome.

No Starch Press, along with several speakers and authors attending NaClCON, will be helping seed the swap.

The goal is not just to move books around. The goal is to move ideas around.

Write a note inside the cover. Tell someone why the book mattered to you. Bring something that helped you learn, challenged you, made you laugh, made you build something, or made you see the world differently.

Someone may leave with your old favorite and discover their new one.
